DeLuca Training works with the customer to identify deliverables based on industry standards for Training Design and Development. In general, we use the following guidelines when developing a training program:

  • Draft of participant materials and leader’s guides
  • Test and verify technical material from customer when necessary
  • Beta test software and hardware products
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts for customers
  • Research program development and unclear content provided by customer
  • Communicate progress on pre-determined basis (status reports)

Our process may include development of the following documents or deliverables to allow opportunities for feedback.

1. Design DocumentDesign Document: A deliverables matrix that includes definition of the deliverables, status, timeline, description, learning levels, learning audience and desired program outcomes.
2. Executive SummaryExecutive Summary: Purpose and outcome statements, delivery mechanism and primary learning objectives used for discussion with Subject Matter Experts as we begin development efforts.
3. Content OutlineContent Outline: A high level description of the content based on the learning objectives in the proposed program flow. Includes development of the initial assessment.
4. Content ScriptContent Script: WORD document that encompasses the “talk track” for e learning, facilitator’s notes for Instructor’s Guides and discussion pieces for student guides.
5. StoryboardStoryboard: Storyboard for e learning, facilitator materials and student guides. This is also used as a feedback tool for animations and video components. Format for these depends on the client, for example in PowerPoint.
6. Facilitator notes or GuidesFacilitator notes or Guides: Enable programs for the virtual or traditional classroom. DeLuca design also offers programming that although originally intended for e learning often needs adaptation for use in regions that do not have access to the same level of technology we enjoy in the US. These may also be used for delivery of an e learning program in different educational settings.
7. Student GuidesStudent Guides: Learning Journal, support materials or job aids designed to facilitate or support the learning process. These can include activities, role-plays, case studies and test questions as appropriate.
8. White Papers, articles or e-zinesWhite Papers, articles or e-zines: Entertainment based or scientific documents that provide background, supporting research as well as articles for publication.
9. Social networking toolsSocial networking tools: Blogs, wikis and other social networking environments.
10. AssessmentsAssessments: Evaluation strategies are designed appropriate to content and delivery mechanisms.
11. Pilot programsPilot programs: DeLuca design actively participates in pilot programs and implementation testing to insure that delivery to the end user or learner is as effective as possible. Our participation in these activities is defined at the outset of the design process so that adequate testing is included in these events. This includes attention to Level 1 and 2 feedback mechanisms. Level 3 and Level 4 assessments are specific to the ability of the customer to manage more invasive strategies for assessing on-the-job performance.
12. Train-the-trainerTrain-the-trainer: We provide train-the-trainer support in a wide variety of delivery platforms. This includes web-enabled resources for development or training professionals, surveys and the analysis of collected data, Instructor-led train-the-trainer programs designed to help Subject Matter Experts perform effectively in the classroom, and one-on-one coaching.
